It's always great to be nominated for an Academy Award. But Amy Adams says that her Oscar nom means even more to her now she is a mother.

The 36-year-old star -- who has nine-month-old daughter Aviana with fiance Darren Le Gallo -- is in the running for the Best Supporting Actress accolade for her role in The Fighter and says she appreciated the honor more than when she was nominated in the same category in 2005 for Junebug and for Doubt in 2008.

She said: "I'm going to hang out with my little girl this time around. It's special because I have a daughter now, and she can see mommy and all of that.”

The Fighter – which also stars Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale -- is nominated for Oscars in seven categories, including the coveted Best Picture, and Amy is hopeful it will be a night to remember for everyone involved with the project.

She added to Entertainment Tonight online: "I'm excited to celebrate with the cast and crew of The Fighter.”

Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson and Russell Brand -- who reprized his Forgetting Sarah Marshall role as rocker Aldous Snow in last year’s movie Get Him to the Greek -- have been added to the list of presenters for the Academy Awards, which take place at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre on Sunday.

Speaking about his invite, Russell joked on Twitter: “I am presenting an Oscar. I shall also choose the recipient. At last my work as Aldous Snow will be honoured, for best actor-ing.”

Amy Adams Glitzes Up the 2011 BAFTAs

Amy Adams Glitzes Up the 2011 BAFTAs

Turning into a red carpet pro, Amy Adams worked her magic as she turned up for the Orange British Academy Film Awards 2011 in London, England on Sunday (February 13).

Held at The Royal Opera House, the 26-year-old actress dazzled as she worked the press area prior to showtime at the annual UK movie extravaganza.

During the show, Miss Amy Adams will be facing off against Helena Bonham Carter, Barbara Hershey, Lesley Manville and Miranda Richardsaon for Best Supporting Actress honors for her work in the movie "The Fighter".

The ceremony sees Jonathan Ross as host for the fifth year while being broadcast on BBC1.
Of the event, Deputy Bafta chairman David Parfitt was high on British films this year around, as he said, "British film has always punched above its weight in the film world. British film is always quite well represented in the Oscars as well as the Baftas."

"It's not that we have a particular bias. British film in general plays well around the world because it's very good."

Amy Adams Hangs Out At The Park With Aviana

Amy Adams Hangs Out At The Park With Aviana

On the Road‘ actress Amy Adams and her fiancĂ© Darren Le Gallo spent the day at Coldwater Canyon Park this morning with their daughter Aviana, 8 months. She is so adorable and looks so much like Amy, doesn’t she?

Amy is in the midst of filming “The Muppets” with Jason Segel. After Muppets, it’s on to Janis Joplin! I am so excited to see Amy transform for that role.

Amy Adams Shares Her Christmas Plans With New Baby

Amy Adams Shares Her Christmas Plans With New Baby

‘The Fighter’ star Amy Adams shared her plans for her first Christmas with daughter Aviana when she visited Rachael Ray.
“We are at home, we’re just going to stay home and be really quiet. And hopefully keep it small and intimate,” Adams told Rachael Ray.
Her daughter, for one, will have a blast. “It’ll be fun! She’ll be more into the wrapping paper I’m sure! She’s really into eating paper right now, you know, because she’s a baby,” says Adams.
Yes, babies are the easiest for Christmas- LOL. I’m sure it’ll be very special for Amy. And I bet she’ll enjoy all the yummy holiday food, too.

Amy Adams Says Losing Baby Weight Isn’t A Priority

Amy Adams Says Losing Baby Weight Isn’t A Priority

New mom Amy Adams may be an actress, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to rush herself to lose weight after giving birth to her first child, Aviana Olea, seven months ago. Even if she has a new movie (‘The Fighter’ with Mark Wahlberg) coming out.
“Being pregnant finally helped me understand what my true relationship was with my body–meaning that it wasn’t put on this earth to look good in a swimsuit,” she says (though anyone who saw her 2008 pictorial homage to Rita Hayworth in Vanity Fair might disagree).

“I was like, ‘Look, I can carry a baby! I’m gaining weight right, everything’s going well.’ And I’ve had that relationship ever since.” Since the birth, she adds, “I’ve been working out when I can, and I’m trying to eat in a healthful way, but losing weight is not my number-one priority. It’s part of my job to return to some semblance of what I was before. But I don’t feel I’ve ever made my career on my rockin’ bod.”
Good for her! Amy seems like one of the most down-to-earth actresses in Hollywood. Love her :) . And I think she looks great.

A Very Sexy Amy Adams Graces The Cover Of Marie Claire

A Very Sexy Amy Adams Graces The Cover Of Marie Claire

Wow! The girl has a baby and all of a sudden she’s a vixen! Check out Amy Adams on the cover of Marie Claire for their January edition. The actress is ready for the world to realize that she’s not as innocent as her movie roles. Guess we should all brace ourselves for the coming year because Amy is ready to break away from that image.
“I did one interview when I was pregnant, and the writer said he thought people would be surprised to know that I had sex,” says Adams. “I didn’t know what to say. I was like, ‘Excuse me if it takes a minute to process the fact that you think I’m asexual.’ Anyway, there’s something great about the world thinking I’m so innocent. Only it’s not true.”
Amy Adams stars alongside Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale in ‘The Fighter’ and director David O. Russell thought the role of ‘Charlene’ was PERFECT for her.
“I had met with David about another movie that didn’t happen. Then he called about The Fighter. I was in Ireland doing the movie Leap Year, and he sent me 20 pages of the script. I was nearly on page 20 when I was like, ‘Wait, which part is for me?’”
Adams says, laughing. “She was ready to play against type,” says Russell about choosing Adams. “A tough, sexy bitch. She has it and knows it, and she killed it. It opened up a whole side to her that’s exciting.” “What’s funny is that some people who’ve seen it have said, ‘Amy, you’re finally playing yourself!’” says Adams. “It’s not that she’s like me. It’s just that she’s less naive. My other characters haven’t been tested. She has been through it.”

And what about Amy Adams and Darren Le Gallo getting married? Is that on her radar? It seems their schedules keep causing an issue.
” Darren and I would set a date, and then a project would come up and we’d push it. Then when we got pregnant, we were going to get married right away. And we will get married. But we didn’t want to rush and plan something just to do it the traditional way,” she explains.
