Lindsay Lohan Gets Continuance in Theft Case

In what has become a familiar scene, Lindsay Lohan was spotted arriving at an LA County Courthouse today (February 23) to face charges of grand theft.

The “Mean Girls” actress, who turned up clad in a black top and white pants, as she was granted a continuance set to take place March 10th at 8:30 a.m.

The judge noted that the signing of a plea deal would guarantee jail time, saying, "I don't care that you're Lindsay Lohan."

Previously, Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley has declared that LiLo will only accept a plea deal if it keeps her out of the slammer- otherwise she’ll fight the charges.

Holley explained, "Ms. Lohan maintains her innocence, and now that I've seen the police reports, I believe the case is entirely defensible. Having said that, we will entertain a discussion concerning a plea if it means no jail so that she can move forward with her recovery and her career."

Michael Lohan to Perform Interventions at Rehab Facility

Lindsay Lohan's dad has flown to Florida to work with people in a substance abuse program and to film a commercial promoting it. He added, "Lindsay is 100 percent behind what I'm doing."

Michael Lohan recently flew to the Inspirations for Youth and Families clinic in Florida to work alongside people living at the facility and also film a commercial to promote it.

He told website RadarOnline.com: “I'm going to be doing interventions. Lindsay is 100 percent behind what I'm doing and I look forward to this entire journey not only with my family but with the Inspiration youth program as well."

Michael attempted to stage an “intervention” on Lindsay last April, flying to Los Angeles in a bid to get her to enter rehab, after he believed she was addicted to prescription drugs. His actions prompted an angry reaction from Lindsay, who referred to him as her “ex dad” and accused him of ruining his own brain with drugs.

However, the pair later reconciled their differences, and Michael recently spoke of how proud he is of Lindsay for finally facing up to her substance abuse problem.

He said: "We went to an AA meeting last night then went home and had a quiet night.

"She changed back to the girl she used to be. When she was at her best -- literally. She's done a 180 and I'm very proud of her."

These two have had quite their ups and downs, but it seems that for now, things are just lovely -- and possibly trending towards romantic -- for the former pair. Lindsay Lohan raised eyebrows when she moved into a new four-bedroom home in Venice...right next door to former flame Samantha Ronson.

And it sounds like they already might be enjoying snuggly sleepovers: "Watching grey's anatomy -- my fav show -- @lindsaylohan sleeping next 2 me -- should I wake her up to let her know her mom is going on GMA?" Samantha tweeted on Friday morning.

They've been turning to Twitter to express mutual adoration for each other since LiLo has returned from rehab.

They exchanged a few lovey dovey tweets on Valentine's Day:

Lilo wrote: "@samantharonson hahahahahaha - have fun @thebrigvenice xxx."

In an interview with ABC News today, Dina said: “I believe that Lindsay doesn't drink anymore, and I think it's gonna be a lifelong struggle with addiction. But I think she's gonna be OK. She's a young girl struggling. You know, she's not perfect ... She's learning as she goes, but she's learning under a microscope, so I can't even imagine how that is.”

The 48-year-old TV personality realized Lindsay, 24, was going off the rails when she was just 18 and says her problems began when she moved to Los Angeles in 2004 and got involved with a hard-partying crowd.

She added: “I knew early on, I just didn't tell anyone about it. It was a personal situation … But I never thought it would be like this – that the media would be so crazy. I really never thought it would get to this level. It's been really hard on my family, harder than anything."

Lindsay is currently battling a felony grand theft charge after being accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from Kamofie & Company.

Upset over her latest legal woes, Lindsay Lohan has taken to the web to adamantly deny any wrongdoing regarding her charges of felony grand theft.

Currently in the midst of trial stemming from claims that she stole a $2,500 necklace from a local jeweler, the "Georgia Rule" actress tweeted, " fyi- i would never steal, in case people are wondering. I was not raised to lie, cheat, or steal..."

Addressing the many headlines questioning her short, white dress in which she wore to court on Wednesday, Lindsay Lohan continued, "also, what i wear to court shouldnt be front page news. it's just absurd. god bless xox L"


During her lengthy message, Miss Lindsay Lohan also touched on work matters, as she wrote, "Was on the phone with my sister&this movie Greenberg is on, i heard my voice which was odd- and ryhs ifans is watching Just My Luck in the movie- made me laugh.. i just want to be on set again, and left alone to just work!"

Prettying up as she readies for her court date, Lindsay Lohan paid a visit to the Byron & Tracey Salon in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon (February 8).

Wearing a blue floral print dress and black cowboy boots, the "Mean Girls" starlet was picked up by a female friend after getting her locks touched up following a visit to the local courthouse.

As previously reported by GossipCenter, Lindsay Lohan will be arraigned tomorrow at 1:30PM PT with felony grand theft for allegedly stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice, CA jeweler.


According to TMZ, sources tell that Miss Lindsay Lohan is pleading not guilty tomorrow, as she supposedly said, "I honestly feel I did nothing wrong."

The 24-year-old is said to have added, "I'm pleading not guilty because I'm NOT!"

She’s facing grand theft charges for allegedly lifting a $2500 necklace from a Venice, California jewelry store, and now Lindsay Lohan may be arrested and paraded in front of the Los Angeles Police Station.

According to TMZ, the “Mean Girls” actress could be the subject of an arrest warrant that would give cops the option to pick her up, cuff her, and take her to central booking.

Despite the fact that  Lindsay Lohan’s charges are shoplifting-related, the LAPD may decide to have Lindsay do a ‘perp walk’ as a message to other would-be kleptomaniacs.


The charges could be filed as early as today (February 7), thereby giving Lindsay little time to figure out a publicity-avoiding strategy.

Lindsay Lohan Whines: I'm Just an Easy Target!

Once again failing to realize that normal people face consequences of their actions, Lindsay Lohan believes that other people are simply out to ruin her.

She will be charged with felony grand theft this week. Maybe it was, as she claims, a misunderstanding. But it doesn't just happen if people dislike you.

Lohan says she's become an easy target for people looking to hurt her, telling pals, "People just don't believe me and know I'm in a vulnerable position."

Lohan thinks the jewelry store owner accusing her of stealing a $2,500 necklace is seizing the moment by concocting a story that Lindsay Lohan stole the piece.

Lindsay Lohan insists it was loaned to her.

Despite the difficult of proving she knowingly planned to steal the piece and then executed that plan, the D.A. is likely to file charges as soon as today.

And, while she insists she's a victim, Lindsay Lohan is "very nervous" about the prospect of returning to jail, telling people that "Nothing is worth going back."


State prison could actually be where she ends up if convicted, but even if that doesn't happen, the ordeal could constitute another probation violation.

We'll have to stay tuned on that, but she is likely to face the music imminently, one way or the other. She may even be handcuffed and dragged off.

No decision has been made on whether an arrest warrant will be issued, or whether the police will arrange her surrender with Lindsay Lohan and her lawyer.

It all depends on the message they're trying to send. A public arrest of Lindsay Lohan, wherever she happens to be at that moment, would be something else.

After several days of silence, embattled actress Lindsay Lohan has spoken out about the allegations that she stole a $2500 necklace through her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley.

“We vehemently deny these allegations and, if charges are filed, we will fight them in court, not in the press,” Holley told PEOPLE on Saturday.

TMZ reports that the DA’s office will file charges against Lindsay Lohan for felony grand theft on Monday.


A “source close to Lindsay” told People the store lent the necklace to Lindsay Lohan.

“Lindsay doesn’t understand how the store can file a police report when they let her borrow the necklace,” said a source close to the actress. “She’s used to getting gifted items that are worth way more than that. And why would she steal a necklace? She has tons of jewelry and doesn’t need anymore.”

Lindsay Lohan reportedly believes she is an “easy target,” according to TMZ.

In the middle of a police investigation after being accused of stealing an expensive piece of jewelry, Lindsay Lohan just turned over a necklace to police.

Girl cannot stay out of trouble for five minutes. This incident could be much more serious than the whole rehab fight / Dawn Holland bribe scandal too.

It started last week. The owner of an L.A. store filed a police report, claiming a $5,000 necklace had been stolen from her. Suspect #1? You guessed it.

Store surveillance video shows Lindsay Lohan in there, wearing the necklace just before it vanished (it's unclear if the video shows her peacing out with it).

Authorities were about to obtain a warrant to search Lindsay Lohan's home, but last night one of Lindsay's associates turned that piece over to the cops.


Turning in stolen property doesn't mean you didn't gank it in the first place, of course, so the owner can continue to press the case against Lindsay Lohan.

Knowing Lindsay Lohan - who is still on probation, and could be royally screwed if she's in fact guilty of this - she'll claim she wore it out "by accident."

Lindsay Lohan could be in for a world of hurt after the LAPD forwards the file on her alleged jewelry heist over to the D.A.'s Office later today.

Sources close to the LAPD investigation say the case against her is "strong." One goes farther, saying that criminal charges being filed is "likely."

In addition to the seriousness of this offense on its own merit, there's the additional complication brought about by her existing probation.

SO SCREWED: Jail could be a-callin' for LiLo after this stunt.

If you missed it, a shop owner in Venice, Calif., filed a police report accusing Lohan of stealing a necklace, valued at $2,500-plus, from her store.

Evidence: Surveillance footage of Lindsay Lohan wearing the necklace in the store and a photo of her wearing the one-of-a-kind necklace a week later.


Oh, and one of her "associates" turning it over to the cops this morning. In short, she's royally screwed without one heck of an excuse/lawyer.

As far as her probation is concerned, Lindsay Lohan visited the L.A. County Probation Department in Santa Monica today for a sit-down with her P.O.

Lindsay Lohan is on wafer-thin ice as the necklace ganking could be a felony and grounds to violate her probation, which probably means time in jail.

Guess they don't treat shoplifting compulsions at Betty Ford.

Just when she thought she was in the clear, Lindsay Lohan may still have to deal with drama from the Riverside District Attorney stemming from an alleged incident with Dawn Holland, a former Betty Ford Clinic worker.

According to Owen McIntosh, Holland’s new attorney, “As far as I know the Riverside District Attorney’s investigation is still ongoing.”


He continued, “They briefly spoke with my client last week but we have not heard anything more from them relating to any charges them may or may not be pursuing.”

"As far as I am concerned the real issue here is that Betty Ford has ‘dropped the ball’ as far as my client is concerned with this case. I have put in around six calls to their insurance carrier Sedgewick CMS and have yet to have a response regarding my client’s workers compensation claim which is ridiculous. She is living off temporary disability benefits just now while they are stalling about the ‘cause and scope’ of her work at Betty Ford at the time of the incident.”

By all accounts, and somewhat incredibly, Lindsay Lohan's rehab scuffle appears to be a victimless crime in which she did nothing wrong.

Nevertheless, the Riverside County D.A. won't let it slide.

The push to prove Lindsay Lohan's probation was violated continue, as the D.A. wants further investigation into LiLo's alleged melee at Betty Ford.

Lindsay Lohan is out of rehab, but not out of the woods.

District Attorney-Elect Paul Zellerbach met with his lead investigator and prosecutor this morning to talk about Lindsay Lohan's altercation with Dawn Holland.

Here's why officials may be out to get Lindsay Lohan only to send a message:

1. Only the Beverly Hills judge in her DUI case can revoke probation.
2. Dawn herself has said she doesn't want Lohan prosecuted.
3. The dude who was with her that night says she was clean.

Just the same, the DA's office says it wants more info to decide whether to charge Lindsay Lohan and seems bent on pushing the matter further. Stay tuned.

Lindsay Lohan is probably breathing a little easier: Radar Online reports that although Judge Elden Fox (the one who warned her she’d serve time if she got into more trouble while on probation) has reviewed the results of the criminal investigation into the battery charge against the actress, he is NOT taking any immediate action.

A source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com: “Judge Fox read the report, and put it back in Lohan’s file. Right now, based on what he has read, he won’t be taking any action against Lindsay.”

Most of you seemed to think Lindsay Lohan should have to face some sort of consequences for her behavior. I’m guessing the judge really wants her to finish out this probation so he doesn’t have to deal with her anymore .

(And the Betty Ford worker wanting to drop the charges probably further encourages him not to do anything.)

Hours before Lindsay Lohan allegedly battered Betty Ford staffer Dawn Holland, she was hanging out in a hotel with Adam Case, a fellow rehab patient.

Case had spent a lot of time with Lindsay Lohan recently, and saw Lindsay's now-infamous altercation with Holland - he's the one who dropped her off late.

Palm Desert cops are convinced Lindsay Lohan was drinking in the hotel room, that Lohan attacked Holland and that Case could help them prove both.

Not so fast.

Cops got a statement from Case that very night, and he backed up Lohan's side. Dissatisfied, cops went back to Case and grilled him again.

That's not even it. Days later Palm Desert cops went to Case yet again and interrogated him over what Lindsay did in the hotel room Dec. 12.

Specifically, whether she consumed alcohol.

Lindsay Lohan insists she was clean, and Case said he never saw her take a drink. Cops pressed Case to get a copy of his hotel bill, but he refused.

As for what happened in the hotel room, Case says Lindsay Lohan spent a long time her hair, then hung out with him and a few other friends.

Looks like a witch hunt and nothing more. Much as the cops would love to find evidence of Lindsay Lohan drunk, our girl was A-O-K!  (THG)

Looks like World War III has been called off, or at least put on hold.

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson struck a truce over LiLo moving next door to Sam in Venice, Calif., which caused a minor uproar earlier this week.

Reports say Lindsay Lohan, who just got out of rehab and "had no idea" she was moving in to the condo directly next door to her ex, apologized to Samantha Ronson for it.

Sam not only bought it, they left things on good terms. Go figure!

Something tells me Britney Spears will take this story about as well as Lindsay Lohan took Gwyneth Paltrow’s mocking of her on ‘Glee.’ Anyway, according to Fox News’ Pop Tarts, Gwyneth’s character was partly inspired by Britney’s very public problems for Gwyneth’s character’s comeback in her new movie, ‘Country Strong.’

“You see a lot of these themes in real life, while I was writing the script a lot of those things that were happening with Britney Spears were very public,” writer/director Shana Feste revealed to FOX411’s Pop Tarts. “She was shaving her head, and I saw how fixated we are as a society in building people up to see their downfall and then the pleasure we take in building them up again.

Gwyneth herself said that she turned to her friend, singer Beyonce, for advice about performing.

“I picked the brains of my girl singer friends more.  I obsessively watched Beyonce perform, she is ‘it’ in terms of a performer – if I could just get a little bit of that abandon she has on stage, that’s what I was really focusing on,” Paltrow explained.

And actually, Gwyneth’s public persona is so different from Britney’s that the film studio president initially balked at the thought of Gwyneth taking the part!

“He thought everyone was so crazy because I was so wrong,” she said. ‘When you think ‘country superstar drink addict’ maybe you don’t think of me, but it’s in there… I haven’t been macrobiotic for a long time now, drinking country singer is much closer to the real me!”

OK, Gwyneth. Something tells me there’s a BIG difference between eating a macrobiotic diet and alcoholism- LOL.
