But the latest issue of Us Weekly claims to have all the real scoop on the break-up, highlighted by this supposed fact: Jake dumped Taylor Swift over the phone!

If true, this would mark the second time Swift has received sad news in such a manner. Joe Jonas (in)famously broke her heart with a 27-second call a couple years ago.

Wow, what a year 2010 has been for Taylor Swift! In addition to being named EW’s Entertainer of the Year, as well as having landed Jake Gyllenhaal, Taylor Swift is celebrating her 21st birthday today! The singer told Us Weekly that;

“I want a Christmas-themed birthday, because I love Christmas as much as my birthday,”
“Combining the two just seems like the perfect festivity.”

And like most people when they hit that magic age of 21, Taylor is looking forward to the benefits that come with finally being of legal age!

“It’ll be cool to get into the 21-and-over places my friends go to,”

I have a hard time believing that there were many places that Taylor Swift couldn’t get into, but at least now she’ll be going there legally! The singer also tweeted yesterday that her friends;

” Tonight @caitlinbird and @elizabethhuett knocked on my door- they brought a pizza with a lit 21 candle on it and bday hats. ,”

We already told you that Taylor Swift was named Entertainment Weekly’s Entertainer of the Year, but now we have some excerpts from her interview with the mag.

Swift clinched the coveted title after having a year that began with a No. 2 single debut, a hit movie, 4 Grammy awards and culminated with her release of Speak Now. Speak Now sold over one million copies in the first week alone, and Swift wrote all 14 songs on the cd! Wow, it’s kind of hard to argue with her title of Entertainer of the Year when you look at those stats!


Here’s what Taylor had to say about her new record and her new love!

Entertainment Weekly: Before Speak Now was released, were you nervous about it selling?
Taylor Swift: It was an emotional roller coaster leading up to releasing that record. I tend to live somewhere between hope and fear. I’ve never wavered so much in my life than I did in the weeks leading up to the record release.

EW: So how did you find out about the number?

Swift: I got a call, and it was a bunch of people from management and my mom and my dad on the phone. I remember Scott Borchetta, my record-label president, saying, “Congratulations. I guess you’re my million-dollar baby.” I made him say it, like, four times because I couldn’t actually believe it. First I was screaming, and then I was really silent, and then I was really emotional, and then I was dancing. I still can’t wrap my mind around it.

EW: And now people are saying you’ve saved the music business.

Swift: I write music about my life and love and relationships, and I hope that people like it enough to bring it into their world and make it about their life and their love and their relationships. That’s where I have to draw the line as far as what I am and what I am not.

EW: You caught some flak this year for some of your performances, particularly your duet with Stevie Nicks at the Grammys. Did that bother you?

Swift: Words are everything to me. Words can build me up and make me feel so good. And on the flip side, words can absolutely demolish me. I am nowhere close to being bulletproof when it comes to criticism. Feeling everything is part of being a songwriter. If I block out those feelings of pain and rejection, then I don’t know what I would write about. I’d rather feel pain when I read something terrible about me than feel nothing.

EW: Okay, moving on: Have you seen any good movies lately?

Swift: Um, yes! [Laughs] What have I seen lately? None that are out yet.

EW: How about Love & Other Drugs, starring Jake Gyllenhaal?

Swift: [Smiles] It’s a good movie.
I wonder if Jake Gyllenhaal is worried about Taylor writing a song about him?

Taylor Swift has been named Entertainer of the Year. Isn’t that an under-statement! The country singer is actually the YOUNGEST star to ever be honored by ‘Entertainment Weekly’. A few weeks ago, she was named ‘Style Star’ by Seventeen Magazine. Wonder how many covers she will snag before the end of the year???

During her ‘Entertainment Weekly’ interview, Taylor Swift admitted she can’t believe what’s made up about her in the press.

“Sometimes I would laugh because I would see it in print and it would say, ‘This song, which is written about her ex, so-and-so…’ And they would write about it as if it was fact. “The fact is, I haven’t ever confirmed that any song is about any particular person. There’s something kind of freeing about that. As far as I’m concerned, it’s all still up in the air.”

Taylor also spoke about why she decided to perform her song ‘Innocent’ – which is about Kanye West– at the MTV Video Music Awards:

“I had decided that I didn’t want to perform on the show. Or even go. Then I woke up in the middle of the night and I realized that I had to, and that I wanted to perform that song.”

The “You Belong With Me” babe looked gorgeous as usual as she sauntered down the Bridgestone Arena red carpet and talking to press amidst a bevy of screaming fans.


Set to take the stage, Ms Swift will be joining the likes of other performers, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, just to name a few.

Aside from performing, Taylor is up for the Female Vocalist of the Year Award.

She blew away all sales estimates by moving over one million units of her album Speak Now in its first week, and Taylor Swift is still on top in week two.

The “Fifteen” songstress posted second week sales of 320,000, beating out Jason Aldean’s My Kinda Party, which sold 193,000.

However, Taylor may be saying goodbye to the #1 spot when week three comes along, as Susan Boyle will be releasing her Christmas album.


Also competing for first place will be Kid Cudi, Cee Lo Green, Bon Jovi, Reba McEntire, and 30 Seconds to Mars’ deluxe re-release of This is War.

Continuing her reign as the queen of country pop music, Taylor Swift was spotted at the 58th Annual BMI Country Music Awards last night (November 9).

The “Fifteen” songstress was all smiles as she mingled with fellow attendees, sporting a black halter-style dress and a half-up hairdo.


Miss Swift was awarded the BMI Songwriter of the Year and Co Writer of BMI Song of the Year at the ceremony.

Taylor is the youngest person ever to win the BMI Country Songwriter of the Year Award, beating records set by Bill Anderson and Johnny Cash.

Billboard analyst Keith Caulfield told press, "Expectations are high, very high. Just one day away from the release of her new album, Taylor Swift hit Central Park in New York City for a free concert on Monday afternoon (October 25).

Flashing her penchant peace sign, the country cutie joined up with a small orchestra to treat the gathered crowd to a few tunes from her latest work, Speak Now.

The NYC outing comes as Miss Swift has found herself in the headlines for a possible blooming romance with actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

According to People magazine, the pair spent the weekend alongside one another by attending the broadcast of "Saturday Night Live" to support Taylor's pal Emma Stone.

"They showed up together," the People insider tells. "They walked around together backstage, but they were careful not to be seen too close. It was hard to tell if they were together, but everyone was shocked that she brought him."

Meanwhile, Swift and Gyllenhaal were together again on Sunday while brunching at Al Di La in Brooklyn along with taking a stroll around Brooklyn's Park Slope neighborhood.(Hollywood Gossip)

Taylor looked to be in great spirits as she mingled with a plethora of her teenage female fans, posing for pictures and signing autographs.

On Wednesday, Miss Swift will be performing live at Jet Blue’s T5 Terminal at the JFK International Airport in New York.

Drawing an end to a long week with another press outing, Taylor Swift was spotted out in London, England on Friday (October 22).

Looking darling in a pink knit sweater and dark jeans, the "Mine" singer made her way over to BBC Radio 2 studios for a surprise appearance at the popular UK outlet.

The European trip comes as Taylor promotes her upcoming album, Speak Now, which is slated to be released this Tuesday, October 25th.

Of the album, Miss Swift spoke with MTV about one of the tracks titled "Story of Us," as she explained that the song" is about the awkward moments two people go through after their love affair has ended."

She revealed, "That actually happened during what ended up inspiring the last song I wrote for this record called 'Story of Us'. And I was at an awards show, and there was a guy there, obviously — it all starts there, doesn't it?"

The 20-year-old adds, "It was a guy I had been in a relationship with, falling out, then we end up at the same awards show. Both trying to act like we don't care ... both like, you know, chatting up the people next to us."

"Afterward, I just felt so empty, like we were both fighting this silent war of pretending we didn't care that the other was there," she dished. "And I went home, and I wrote this song about it. And at that point, I had this gut feeling, and I knew the album was finished."(Hollywood Gossip)

The two young stars were side-by-side as they first headed over to Jamie's for dinner - as the establishment is Jamie Oliver's new restaurant in Covent Garden.

After the meal, Taylor and Selena both headed over to Ciao Italian Gelateria in Leicester Square for a tasty dessert as Miss Swift got stracciatella gelato while Miss Gomez opted for toffee white chocolate flavored gelato.

As previously reported by GossipCenter, Taylor is currently promoting her soon to be released album "Speak Now" while Selena continues to boost interest in her recently released disc "A Year Without Rain".
